Charlie Berenger gets organised...

Thanks to Charlie for sending us this shot of his new K&M performance tray being prepared for action...these trays can make all the difference between feeling assured and in control on stage or feeling a little bit panick stricken. Anyone who has had to fumble around for the right key harp in between numbers whilst still holding the mic, checking the set list and then trying to have a quick drink before the rest of the band plough on regardless whether you are ready or not will know what I mean...

Echoes of yesterday.

Thanks to Alan Charlish for sending this photograph and message regarding his new Hohner Echo 120, Alan wrote " Attatched is a photo of me with my new harp. Over 50 years ago my mate and I used to play at bus stops for pennies. I cant remember how many pennies we made, I think most of them went on sweeties, but at least we learnt that you can make money with music. The new harp cost more than a few pennies but I think it is well worth the money. Thanks for your help, the competetive price and the super fast delivery. I can highly recommend your service as you certainly go that extra mile. Regards, Alan" Thanks Alan, we hope you enjoy your Echo.

About Harmonicas

The harmonica, also called harp, French harp, blues harp, and mouth organ,[1] is a free reed wind instrument used primarily in blues and American folk music, jazz, country, and rock and roll. It is played by blowing air into it or drawing air out by placing lips over individual holes (reed chambers) or multiple holes. The pressure caused by blowing or drawing air into the reed chambers causes a reed or multiple reeds to vibrate creating sound. Each chamber has multiple, variable-tuned brass or bronze reeds, which are secured at one end only, leaving the other free to vibrate. Reeds are pre-tuned to individual tones, and each tone is determined according to the size of reed. Longer reeds make deep, low sounds and short reeds make higher-pitched sounds. On certain types of harmonica the pre-tuned reed can be changed (bending a note) to another note by redirecting air flow into the chamber. There are many types of harmonicas, including diatonic, chromatic, tremolo, orchestral, and bass versions.
